David Land Memorial Scholarship

The David Land Memorial Scholarship (previously the Sallisaw Band Booster Scholarship) is a memoriam in honor of David Land. Mr. Land was a Sallisaw band alumnus and a recipient of the John Phillips Sousa award at Sallisaw High School. He and his wife Karen Land were band parents and involved heavily in the Booster Program. Music was always a big part of David’s life, especially when he led the praise and worship services as the Worship leader at First Assembly of God. The scholarship was renamed in his honor after his tragic passing in 2003 by the people that worked along with him to bring his passion and love of music to the world. This scholarship is used to help provide 2 students $1,000 each to put towards their first year of college in any major. They are given $500 for each semester, once they have submitted proof of enrollment.

The deadline for entry of scholarship information is March 26, this includes submitting your essay to Mr. Webb, and interviews will begin on Tuesday, April 9th at 6pm. Dress is job interview formal.
